Taiwanese government has passed the new law to require all the new buildings to plan accessible paths in order to pass the inspection since 2013 . Greenmay Social Welfare works with Taiwan Disability-Free Association and several architects to encourage and help the new-built and old buildings to add accessible paths into their structures.
The new law has stated that all of the new buildings/ new structures added on the old buildings and non-public buildings have to provide accessible equipments. The accessible paths should be able to reach accessible stairs, accessible washrooms, accessible bathrooms, wheelchair seats, accessible parking spaces , accessible guest rooms and etc.
All of the new construction has to equip accessible environment regulation in order to provide physical challenged individuals independent lives. After the renovation, the buildings can not only be more accessible for different groups but can also increase the value for themselves.
